On September 5, Geespace and Orbith, a leading satellite communication company in South America, officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the SCO Aerospace Industrial Park in Qingdao, China. The two parties will collaborate on policy access, technical cooperation, and market development of the LEO IoT constellation GEESATCOM, driving large-scale applications and services of the constellation across South America.

This cooperation marks the first strategic step for GEESATCOM in the South American market. According to the MOU, Orbith will become an important strategic partner of Geespace in South America, supporting key processes for GEESATCOM in the region. Together, the two sides will formulate a market strategy for GEESATCOM’s satellite IoT services in Argentina and other South American countries. Geespace will provide necessary technical information and support, while Orbith, leveraging its local compliance expertise and market resources, will jointly facilitate the efficient deployment and scaled application of GEESATCOM in Argentina and the wider region.

Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Orbith operates across multiple South American countries with strong market influence and service capabilities. Orbith was the first company in Argentina to deploy high-throughput satellite (HTS) technology and is actively expanding into emerging areas such as satellite IoT, making it one of the most representative satellite communication enterprises in the region.

Currently, more than 40% of rural areas in Argentina remain unconnected to the internet, while other remote areas face issues of unstable coverage and insufficient transmission speed. This collaboration will help upgrade Argentina’s and South America’s digital infrastructure, providing more inclusive and reliable connectivity services to local and regional markets.

The two parties will also explore the integration of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and Geostationary- Orbit (GEO) satellite applications, combining the low-latency advantages of LEO satellites with the wide-coverage capabilities of GEO satellites to deliver more stable and flexible communication solutions for users.

Going forward, Geespace will continue expanding into international markets, deepen cooperation with Argentina and other Belt and Road countries, steadily advance the globalization of GEESATCOM, and contribute to the high-quality development of the global digital economy.
